The Happy Cats Live

The Happy Cats featuring Christa Elmer, Pedro Riestra and Nacho Vegas are with us for four special evenings over the summer months.

They are a fabulous band that that will take us on a wonderful swinging journey through some of the great jazzy tunes we all know and love.

Christa originally comes from Switzerland but as she has lived in Mallorca for 30 years I think she can say that Palma is her home! Christa regularly performs with the trio around the island at festivals and has a wonderful easy style that really connects with her audiences. Whether it’s her singing, ukelele playing or an impromptu tune on the piano then she is guaranteed to get your foot tapping and put a smile on your face.

Known on Mallorca as the The Jazz Manouche guy Pedro is originally from the Asturias. His style on the guitar is very reminiscent of the Romani guitarist Django Reinhardt which when combined with Christa creates a magical sound.

Completing the line up is Nacho Vegas, a Mallorquin and well respected musician whose knows how to make that saxophone sing. He was part of the famous Wonderbrass band and with his brother he cofounded the La Gran Orquestra Republicana and toured all over Europe and South America.

Together they form this swingy, delicious and joyful trio leaving their audiences on their feet…there is one guarantee and that is that they certainly live up to their name.
